microsoft photosynth

Photosynth is Microsoft's next gen app... a vastly powerful piece of software capable of taking a wide variety of images, analyzing them for similarities, and grafting them together into an interactive three-dimensional space. This seamless patchwork of images can be viewed via multiple angles and magnifications, allowing us to look around corners or "fly" in for a (much) closer look.

Or simply put, it could utterly transform the way we experience digital images.

Enough yakkin'... have a look at this kickass demo at TED by Blaise Aguera y Arcas... the genius co-creator of Photosynth...

uniqlock

If you haven't checked it out already, have a look at Uniqlo's super fun (and highly awarded) interactive campaign Uniqlock, which fuses dance, time signal music and a clock utility.

Developed by Projector... Tellingly, creative director and co-founder Koichi Tanaka doesn't think of Uniqlock as advertising which is why it's so different from other advertising/branding out there...

A bit more about Uniqlo's rebrand/world domination here...

penguin classics deluxe edition

Penguin's at it again... this new series for their Classics Deluxe Range using comic artists for their covers is a winner... a few of my fav artists make an appearance are here... Chris Ware, Tomer Hanuka, Daniel Clowes and Frank Miller (who puts in a surprisingly 'un-comic' like cover) and others that I'm not too familiar with but are kickass nonetheless...

checkout the whole range here...

tomer hanuka

Tomer Hanuka is another one of my fav illustrators, like James Jean (who incidently, lived down the hall from him in their SVA days) he has a colour palette that's just ethereal and mixes colours that shouldn't look good together but do... with a dash for the bizarre with goes well with anything... enjoy his art at his website here... or checkout bigger images and more info on his blog that he shares with his twin brother Asaf Hanuka... (yeah, that's right a TWIN brother, how cool is that?)...
