There is a street in a dark, desolated, and chaotic town. When the street lamps are lit, you will see the world that only kids can enter and play.
The kids know about "The Otokoyo", a game with different figures called Oni(Devils) and a game called "Kakurenbo". When the kids play "Kakurenbo", they disappear one-by-one into the alley between the buildings.
Hikora is a boy who joins the game to try and find his missing sister, and his friend Yaimao goes with him. They are joined by Noshiga, Tachiji, and Suku who enter the game to try and know the truth about the devilish figures of Oni. They encounter the twins Inmu and Yanku, and a girl who plays alone.
On a given signal, the game of "Kakurenbo" begins and four different figures of Oni confront the kids.
The kids wanted to know about the game, their town, and the world. As they play the game, a completely different truth is revealed.
